    You Are a Seeker Soul

You are on a quest for knowledge and life challenges.
You love to be curious and ask a ton of questions.
Since you know so much, you make for an interesting conversationalist.
Mentally alert, you can outwit almost anyone (and have fun doing it!).

Very introspective, you can be silently critical of others.
And your quiet nature makes it difficult for people to get to know you.
You see yourself as a philosopher, and you take everything philosophically.
Your main talent is expressing and communicating ideas.

Souls you are most compatible with: Hunter Soul and Visionary Soul

    The Grande Affair
My department chair invited me to The Grande Affair, the medical student prom and teaching award banquet, so I went. I got to wear my mother of the groom dress again. They organized awards and videos for the faculty and the usual people got all the awards. The interesting thing to me was that all the work, all the speeches, etc., were done by the women. The men just sat at their tables and hooted for their favorite professors. Remember, this is medical school. Yikes, what is wrong with men? Any ideas?

    Are you Canadian?
You know you're a Canadian if...

You stand in "line-ups" at the movie, not lines.

You're not offended by the term "Homo Milk".

You understand the sentence, "Could you please pass me a serviette, I just spilled my poutine."

You eat chocolate bars instead of candy bars.

    You drink pop, not soda.

You know what it means to be on pogey.

You know that a mickey and 2-4's mean "Party at the camp, eh!"

You can drink legally while still a teen.

You talk about the weather with strangers and friends alike.

You don't know or care about the fuss with Cuba, it's just a cheap place to travel with good cigars and no Americans.

When there is a social problem, you turn to your government to fix it instead of telling them to stay out of it.

You're not sure if the leader of your nation has EVER had sex and you really don't want to know if he has!

You get milk in bags as well as cartons and plastic jugs.

Pike is a type of fish, not some part of a highway.

You drive on a highway, not a freeway.

You know what a Robertson screwdriver is.

You have Canadian Tire money in your kitchen drawers.

You know that Thrills are something to chew and "taste like soap."

You know that Mounties "don't always look like that."

You dismiss all beers under 6% as "for children and the elderly."

You know that the Friendly Giant isn't a vegetable product line.

You know that Casey and Finnegan are not a Celtic musical group.

    You participated in "Participaction."

You have an Inuit carving by your bedside with the rationale, "What's good enough protection for the Prime Minister is good enough for me."

You wonder why there isn't a 5 dollar coin yet.

Unlike any international assasin/terrorist/spy in the world, you don't possess a Canadian passport.

You use a red pen on your non-Canadian textbooks and fill in the missing 'u's from labor, honor, and color.

You know the French equivalents of "free", "prize", and "no sugar added", thanks to your extensive education in bilingual cereal packaging.

You are excited whenever an American television show mentions Canada.

You make a mental note to talk about it at work the next day.

You can do all the hand actions to Sharon, Lois and Bram's "Skin-a-ma-rinky-dinky-doo" opus.

You can eat more than one maple sugar candy without feeling nauseous.

You were mad when "The Beachcombers" were taken off the air.

You know what a toque is.

You have some memento of Doug and Bob.

You know Toronto is not a province.

    You never miss "Coaches Corner."

Back bacon and Kraft Dinner are two of your favorites food groups.

    Fun in sun
I just got back from a week in Marco Island with Julia. We had a small condo on the 10th floor overlooking the beach. The weather was perfect every single day. We went to the everglades, Key West, saw a lot of wildlife including many birds, dolphins, the usual lizards (did not step on nature John), took silly pictures of each other, looked in the fancy shops in Naples, listened to Irish music, ate grouper every day and didn't get sunburned. Who wants to go next week? I wanna go back....

    Stars on Ice
We went to Stars on Ice and sat on the front row right on the ice. I shook hands with Alexei Yagudin. Sarah Hughes needs to lose some weight. Alexei is the real star. Everyone check out Julia's caracature of Herr Bush on her web page. Painting section, last one on the right.

Well, they made my efforts into a joke. Ha ha, scientist tries to help gifted students. What a joke. That's why Kansas City will never have world class science.

I organized a field trip to the Hoglund Brain Imaging center for a group of gifted students, and the KC Star sent a writer and a photographer. Watch the paper for pictures of your favorite brain lady.

    Honeymoon
Tiffany has off Nov. 29- Dec. 5. How would that work for a honeymoon trip to Montreal to see the sights and meet the relatives? Is that week ok for you, Laura, to spend some time with them? Should I come too? Should we have a party for John and Tiff with all the relatives? Would the Delta hotel be convenient? Should I stay with Laura in the dorm, at Bobie and Zeida's, not come at all??? Need suggestions please.

    Washington
I went to Washington on election day and came back last night. There are signs all over Washington "0 electoral votes". I went on the metro to visit some people at NIH. There was a metro crash in a station I was in about half an hour after I was there. Another landing in foggy rainy KC. This time I could see the ground 5 seconds before landing. Apparently the COC (Commander in Chief) add a K if you like thinks he has a mandate. Next thing you know they will ban belly button piercing. Well I guess gays don't have to worry about paying the marriage tax.

    Watkins Mill
We went to Watkins Mill State Park in Missouri. Nice and interesting. They have all the old 1800's machines to make wool into cloth or yarn still set up as they were. The house has 2 floors, but there are 3 stairways to the second floor and the rooms don't connect. Fancy stairway to the master bedroom and guest room and two back stairways. One for girls and one for boys. A nice day trip from KC. Now that we're empty nesters, we're checking out the area.

Friday night. Very warm, very quiet. Warm enough to sit outside without a coat at night. What date is it? Oct. 29? It rained for about a minute. I got my butt wet sitting outside, but it was worth it. The kitchen cabinets are in and the floor is done. Countertops come next week along with the splash tiles. No appliances yet, but I think we can get some of the junk out of the family room and dining room. Is that exciting or what. I found my cousin's address and sent it to John in case he may be able to come to the wedding too. We have already lost two of my generation, Charles Jr and Dick Jr. No more Jrs. I don't know where Pam is. So sad.

    Back from San Diego
I arrived last night at 1 am in foggy kc. It was an instrument landing and we didn't see the ground until about 2 seconds before landing. Now I have to write up 2 reviews then go to Washington Tuesday. I'm hoping one of the pending grants will do well and I'll be free to be a real person again after over 3 years of deadlines. We'll find out in about 3 weeks.
